We do this through community organising: bringing together local groups, supporting them to set their own agenda, take action, and improve their communities.
We train people from our member groups to take action for themselves. This means they have the skills and confidence to approach the people in power, and get them to make a decision which will benefit the local community.
Over the last 18 years we have been incredibly successful. TCC, working with others, has introduced recycling for Wrexham instead of incineration, got employers to increase the wages of the lowest paid, got a Parkinson’s nurse to be based in the area, made Wales the first ever Fairtrade country, and got a homeless shelter for Wrexham.
